my firefish is awful about eating food. i mean, he eats Prime Reef Flakes good (usually) but it wont touch either the frozen Marine Cuisine or frozen Formula One. It eats select pieces of frozen brine, but that makes a HUGE mess of uneaten food because it separates into a bunch of junk that he will never eat. If I feed all different sorts of flakes (Prime Reef, Formula 1, Formula 2, Spirulina, etc) will that cover its whole diet? I mean if anybody can give me advice on how to feed frozen food to a picky, single fish in a 46g without letting it break apart and scatter everywhere, let me know cause that would be great too!

How does his belly look? Full and smooth? Or thin and pinched?

If he is the single fish in a 46, I am betting he is getting a good portion of his diet from naturally occuring food in the tank. Which is ideal I must say!

If he looks as if he is not starving, I would continue to give him the variety of flake, and know that he is getting other food such as copepods that are naturally occuring.

Otherwise I would try some live brine here and there to really kick in his eating response. But I am willing to bet he is just snacking on critters in your tank and the other stuff you offer just isn't as enticing.
