Just a lil' mod I found to quiet those babies down. Just tried it and it's like night and day. My Auqualight fan is now louder than the Prizm. :!:

For those of you who have Prizm skimmers and find them too noisy and want to make them quieter try this.....
I have cracked the problem of a noisy Prizm on my tank and here are a couple of handy tips for anyone who wants to have a go.
There is an empty chamber on the Prizm where the water and air intake tube goes. Fill this with water and it will dampen the noise.
Also, and much more importantly, extend the air intake line (I used a valve, which can be closed for priming the skimmer, on the end of the supplied airline with an additional piece of airline) so that the end of the air line is inside your cabinet below the tank. The air intake for the venturi is very noisy and this will make it inaudible.
I have performed these mods and the skimmer is very quiet.
