Want to get my fist corals any suggestions

Ok I think I'm ready for some coral. I have a 29gallon tank with coralife 130 watt pc lights, Bakpak2r, 2 rio powerheads, emporer 280, 30lbs fiji premium live rock and 40lbs of live sand. The tank has been going well for 3 months. I currently have one green-chromis and one yellow tail blue damsel, one peppermint shrimp and one cleaner shrimp, 2 hermit crabs. I do have some algae problems but the water parameters have all been really good. I'm using pacific ocean seawater( Calypso store bought). I haven't been measuring calcium or anything else necessary for corals so I need some advice on that. What would be a first good coral? also the closest store that has good coral is about an hour away..is that a problem?? thanks in advance...

The hour drive should not be an issue. I would suggest mushrooms with a note. If you ever decide to venture into SPS coral you will be upset you ever put them in your tank. Leathers would also be a good first coral. If you ever decide not to keep them that can be removed from your tank with no problems.

I would suggest some hardy beginner corals for you at first..zoos, mushrooms and perhaps some softies as Wazzel has suggested...since these arent Really demanding light corals your current light would be ok..and seeing how these corals arent Ca demanding, you shouldnt have a problem. However since it is good practice get a decent Ca test kit and this will give you the status of Ca currently in your system..you want to keep it at about 400ppm...

Not suggesting you buy from here but this is what they consider beginner and im inclined to agree..
