USed tanks?

I recently got a 20 tank from a classmate for $10...the plan was to use it as a sump.......he kept a snake in it for a few months.....if I clean it really well, will it be okay?

I don't see why not. As with any tank, just be sure to do a leak test before you plumb it in to your system. :wink: Also, on older tanks I always check the silicone - if it looks iffy I prefer to reapply...

I was considering redoing the silicone....that would be the best place for the nasty stuff to hide....

Make sure your tank was a fish tank and not a terrarium. Some terrariums have thinner bottom glass than an aquarium IIRC

This is a standard AGA tank bought from the LFS....I'll look over it though.
