That all sounds normal. :D

The worm sounds like a peanut worm - pretty cool and not dangerous. Night hunting in my tank with a flash light is always fun!

I would think so. Pictures would make it more definite, but it all sounds par for the course with a new tank.

:D

How old is the tank? What kind of flow do you have in there?

I would guess it is some of the normal tank cycling stuff. I would suggest getting a bit more flow. IMO you will not get much out of the skilter.

Yep, looks pretty normal. It is probably some type of slime algea.

Low flow helps this type of algea to grow, so what Wazzel said would be helpful in keeping it in check.

what IMO? and what do u suggest about the flow?

IMO = in my opinion

I think a MJ 900 or two would do a great job in your tank.

The brown stuff on the back is just brown diatom algae. Snails will take care of that. Just make sure you don't have Copper medicines in the water. Even if you used it a long time ago it could still kill your snails. If the tank is not invert safe then forget that idea.

The stuff on the sand is a little harder to tell. Could be the same brown diatom or red slime that has not grown thick enough yet.

In any case your tank is still going through it's maturation cycle so you will see different algaes come and go. Good water will help keep things under control.

Are you using filtering your source water for makeup or what you mix with salt to do water changes?
