can it be done?

and what exactly would the tank need to run skimmerless
I have seen a few threads around the net of people doing this
is it wise?

just curious ,has anyone here done it or doing it now?

thanks Clint

I've done it before, but as Mrktplayer said it really depends on what type of system you have, what livestock you want, etc. I've run nanos that way, but did huge water changes. Also had a dwarf seahorse tank that I never skimmed, but I wanted the excess macro growth.

If you keep easy corals you can do it from the start. But don't expect to keep the really demanding sps until your tank is quite mature.
