I finally installed my TyphoonIII RODI unit from Air,Water&Ice. I know that it is normal and in fact required that water be flushed down the drain during the creation of RODI water. I can hear the trickle of water in my previous RODI units. The problem I have with my new install is that when I leave the “fast flush valve Black handle” in the closed or open position, water is gushing out the “drain”. The instructions say “closed when the handle is at right angle to the tubing”; open when it is in line. I draining of water only slow to a trickle when the handle is at a 45 degree angle to the line ( as shown in picture).

Does any one know what the correct position should be for normal operation ?

The flush valve should be totally off/perpendicular to the tubing during normal operation. It may be a flow restrictor problem as in the wrong one or maybe not even installed.

Maybe the black handle is attached to the ball valve incorrectly? Usually there is some mechanical mechanism that prevent this misalignment, but the best way to verify is to remove the flush valve from the filter, and see where is the handle position when the valve is closed.
