Expired Nutri Seawater

Hello all,

I'm setting up my 60 gallon cube and am preparing the RO water. I have one container of Nutri Seawater that is unopened, but is from 12/15/2015.

This might be a stupid question, but would it hurt if I mix it with the saltwater I'm preparing? I know the tank is going to cycle, just want to know if there is anything beneficial or detrimental by adding this "expired" Seawater. Thank you for your help!!

If there is an expiration date and it's almost 6 years old after the date. All the beneficial bacteria is probably dead. I'm no expert but you probably can use it but why take the chance.

Think of it as a sell by date, not an expiration date. If it's biologically active, the bacteria should all be in a resting state. I would use it without hesitation.
