I am looking to upgrade my skimmer for my 50 & 12 gallon running under 1 filtration system & would like to know what would work best, but also economicly reasonable.........I tend to overfeed my fish and would like to continue doing so w/ no hesitation, I was wondering what exactly am I supposed to be looking for in a skimmer & if you can name a few reputable brands

Octopus skimmers are good needlewheel skimmers.

What is your skimmer budget that would be a great starting place

hmm so reef octopus and ATI would be better than a remora for a 29 gal? im planning to upgrade too

ATI would be overkill for a 29 as well as most Reef Octopus skimmers.

IMO, there has yet to be a "great" skimmer for nano tanks made. Provided you do not overfeed and overstock a 29 gallon tank, weekly water changes of 10% or more should rule out needing a skimmer.

However, should you choose to upgrade and have room for a sump, then I would recommend one of other skimmers.

a remora is a great nano skimmer, you could always go with the urchin pro, they are quiet and do a decent job, i ran a reg remora on my 50g system for a month before i got my new skimmer, and was happy with it. ot go with a euro reef rs 80
