read on the web lots of conflicting reports so want some firsthand knowledge. will a long nose hawkfish( or other hawkfish) eat crabs and snails? I know to keep them away from shrimp, but most of my tanks have hermit crabs, snails and sally light foots. will they be safe? also will this fish eat flakes? thanks steve

The only predictable fish is a dead one....even taking "1st hand experience" into account.

My little guy has been a perfect angel!;) I've had him for over a year, and my shrimps, hermit crabs & snails are all accounted for.;)

But don't blame me if you get one that turns out to be a demon spawn.:tongue1:

I have a Coral Hawkfish who lives at peace with my hermits & snails but he is VERY well fed. He also lives with a HUGE Banded Coral Shrimp ..and I'm sure that's the only reason he's still alive :)

I have a long nose hawkfish in my nano. Have not had a problem with it eating snails and hermits. (But that is in my tank)
