for those rookies like my self, who plan to get an overflow box whose tank is not reef ready.

i purchased an eshoppes overflo ,...one must suck air of u-tube to start flow. i read instuctions but was not very detailed, just a pic to go by.
i made the mistake of sucking air without both ends being submerged in water. i was trying to suck air for a good 10-15 mins, i was starting to pass out ( not joking ), then as i was about to give up decided to see instruction pic once more. i saw how it must be primed and both ends submerged in order for air to exit. i hope this is helpful, i wish someone would have post this before i purchased overflow.

Hehe...yeah...that's the bad news but the good news is once it's primed, you shouldn't ever have to do it again, unless you want to do some cleaning or something like that.
