http://www.aquariumguys.com/impeller60.html This is out of a rio 600 . It looks like the key that locks the impellor to the magnet has worn away and the shaft is sliping and not spinning the impeller is this a normal failure sorry about the stupid question

Can you post a picture?

I clean my rio when it jams up and the impeller part you're talking about is always a bit loose on my rio 180, but it still produces flow.
