hammerhead coral

i just got a hammerhead coral and it will only open about i inch.....my tank levels are perfect and i moved my power head so itt doesnt blow right on it and i have it half way up in my tank ....why wont it open all the way ??????can any 1 help

How long have you had it in the tank? It can take a couple of days to open fully. Also unlike a Frogspawn or a Torch, Hammers don't open as large.

Try to keep it out of the flow for a couple of days until it fully opens, at that point you can give some indirect flow to it.

i have had my tank up and running for almost a a yr and a half when i got the coral it was very open and big

how long have you had it and what kind of lighting do you have, when was the last time the bulbs were replaced. did you check to see if your tank paramaters are good or are you jsut saying that it is. it needs med. indirect flow and can take a few days to a week or so to get use to a new tank
