Hello all, so I started my 30g AIO over 1 month ago, and I'm still having tiny particles in the water column. I tried almost everything- took out my koralia 1, turned off the return pump, turned off the skimmer, and turned the flow to the built in refugium off- nothing works. I thought they were microbubbles at first, but not so sure anymore. I upgraded the skimmer to a tunze nano and added a koralia 1 (for some reason I think it started then), and have nothing in the tank other than LR, LS, a few hitchhiker mushrooms, and just bought 10 hermits. Separately, I have a hair algae outbreak (I filled the tank with tap water initially), but I'm tackling that slowly. Any help would be appreciated.

Any place you can add a filter sock or put poly material?
A pic of the system would be helpful.

If you'd turned everything off the bubbles had to have stopped? lol
Wait a few minutes between each thing you turn off, and you will probably identify the source. Or turn everything off and then back on, one by one.

If you aren't running any carbon, you might want to consider that to remove some of the impurities from the tap water, and a bunch of water changes too, every couple of days. Bacterial colonies usually build back up after a couple of days so a bunch of 20% water changes spaced a few days apart will help.

If you don't have a reactor to run GFO, you might want to invest in one beforethe algae becomes a major issue ;)

got some chemi-pure elite yesterday - is it okay to just put it in the back chamber in that nylon bag, or do I have to put it in something else?

I also cleaned out the filter pads in the back, they were full of detritus. I'm hoping that was the problem, although the particles are still there. I'm giving it a day or so..

Yes it is fine to use in the nylon bag. I wouldnt want to mess with opening it, great product though. Should make a noticeable difference in water clarity. As far as particles go i use filter floss. Cheap and easy to just replace every couple days.

Your tank is still very new. I would relax and the let the tank mature a bit unless the particles are everywhere all the time. Chemi-Pure Eliite should help. You can also try a poly filter (change it monthly).

It IS everywhere all the time, chemi pure elite didn't help at all, and I already have a poly filter and filter sponge, which I cleaned this weekend... nothing is making it go away or even decreasing the particles

p.s. tested my water today, 0 ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, and 8.4 PH... I'm perplexed
