I purchased a 24gal nano from an MR member which came with a brand new Biocube protein skimmer for the 14 and 29 gal tanks. I was wondering if I'd be able to run this in my tank.

Of course,Y not

Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using Tapatalk

Thats what I thought but the instructions say to keep the top of the reaction chamber above water which is impossible to do in the 24gal because the light gets in the way. Can I submerge the chamber in water and pull it out when its time to empty the protein?

I had that one in my 29 BioCube. What kind of Nano do you have? Are there any chambers in the back area?

I had to keep mine in the first chamber of the biocube and the hood was able to go down and hide it with no problem. Its not a submersible skimmer so you cant put the whole thing underwater. I dont think any skimmer can be fully underwater?

If your tank is an Aquapod you can only use the skimmer in the display. right under where the top opens. The water level is too high in the rear chambers.
FYI this skimmer does not work very well

I have this skimmer on my nano cube 24. Its on the 3rd chamber and I can not have the water all the way to the top.
The think seldom works as it should, I always get tea out of it, but its the only skimmer that I can use in my setup.

So you were able to fit it in the 3rd chamber even though theres the filter?

Yeah, it fits a little bit tight, between the return nip/tubing and the back wall. Its being held to the side wall with the suction cups

My water level is just enough to pass over the wall between the 2nd and 3rd chamber
