Question about RO/DI filter

I have this specific tap water filter: (http://www.petsolutions.com/Tap-Water-Filter+I17101175+C44.aspx) and I was curious if I had to buy the replacement cartridge or possibly for less money replace the carbon on the inside?

I think that is just for drinking water, but maybe the more experienced people here could help you out more.

I think those cartridges are only good for a few 10's of gallons, and then need replacement. (at $30 a pop or close).. Not really of great use for saltwater.

I would suggest replacing your filter with an RO/DI unit. An 5 stage RO/DI will be able to filter 5-10 times the amount of water before the filters need to be replaced, and the replacement costs of the filter media is about half.

its a DI filter only,(i.e. de-ionizer) , not RO
