Just a quick update. My sps seems to be doing well. However since I added my new diy sump and overflow, all my purple and white live rock is turning brown? Is this brown algea? Should I get a cleaner crew? Or is it time for a skimmer?

47 gallon tall
10 gallon sump
40pnds of live rock
3 med fish

Thanks guys. I might skip the skimmer for now. I need to drill my tank for the overflow, and purchase another light so I can support coral. Right now all I have is one small frag I bought at the Lfs to try it out. I used tap water with instant ocean conditioner, and my tank has only been set up for 2 months.
