Ick--No Bueno--Can you help?

Hi,

I seem to be going through my first bout with ick on some of my fish. I can only imagine I brought this on when doing a large water change and deeply vacuming and stiring the sand. I have some random medications but I don't know if anything is reef safe (i'd hate to stress my corals and shrimp etc).

is there anything I can do or do I have to just wait it out?

Do I just add the garlic to the water or only put it in the food when I feed them?

Soak the food with Garlic Extreme.

Temp swings seem to do it too.I just lost my Kole Tang to it after a temp swing thanks to ConEd.

Lost alot of fish to this disease. Best thing for me was to always use garlic extreme every single time i feed now. for me the problem was temp swing till i purchased a chiller. good luck.

garlic is helpful with everymeal also vitamin c will help, kent makes it. also marine max i tihnk its called may help. kick ich helped in my gfs tank and that is reef safe.

Garlic IMO is a preventative measure and not a cure if you already have ich. I think of it as taking a daily multi-vitamin, but if I have the flu, I would take some flu medication and wouldn't treat my flu with multi-vitamins.
