what kind of light for sump chaeto

halogen will not give you the right k values, the bulb i mentioned above is 6500 K, and only consumes 27 watts of power,

The dimensions on that light are really big--almost 12 inches high. That's rather large for in a stand, right?

+1 This is what I use on my Refug. I also have a 30gal sump and the light fit right on top of the tank perfectly. It not only grow Chaeto but corals too. You can also get it at Amazon.com and ebay for fairly cheap.

Laurie that light is only 4.5" in height and a 30 is 16.75" most stand have at least 23" clearance

get something like that and a 6500k bulb. works great.

I am- it's just what I had laying around. I keep xenia in the fuge as well, so I kept the blue bulb in there. I can always switch it out if I need to. It's plenty of light. My fuge is made from just a ten gallon tank.

Hey man the chaeto im giving you is under the same light that rkaragozler above me posted up!!! I swear the chaeto grows non stop!!! My chaeto grows so much that there is no light underneath it and that if I pick it up, it comes out as a cube shape LOL cause of my refugium. Get that light man it works wonders

Works great. Not to mention, no heat, really easy and flexible mounting, and very cost effective.

I used this light for years they work great now Im useing 3 cree leds they work fine the growth of the cheato has decreased a little bit though
