well there isnt going to be any die off, but IMO i would just stay with the rock u have cause its already live, and its covered in good stuff, or get another small tank, and take one rock for ur tank now and seed the BRS rock.

Hi Jake,

I have read in some books, that it is a good idea, to swap some rock from other tanks, every year, to keep up the bio diversity. Same with sand.

However, going with a dry rock, the difference is going to be shape. Is the reason you are swapping because of some bad unwanted stuff on the existing rock. Or just for a change.

My suggestion, would be to swap some live rock with a fellow reefer, or buy some from that source and sell what you got. I have heard good things about BRS rock, but I still like live rock better.
