When to add LIVE ROCK?

I just started the cycle on my 75 gallon tank. When can I add live rock to the tank? Should I do it now, or wait to the end of the cycle? I don't want to make a mistake and end up with dead live rock. Let me know. Thanks

Add live rock as soon as possible. Live rock can't die.

Some people use the live rock and live sand to add the bacteria that is needed to start the cycling process. Add a few dead shrimps from the market to spike the ammonia levels so that the bacteria on the rock as something to feed on.

The live rock is what must cycle in the tank. The bacteria that grows during your cycle grows on the porous surface of the live rock because it is getting rid of the ammonia that is released from the die off on the rock. Add the rocks and test your ammonia every few days until your ammonia and nitrite are completely gone.
