I just picked up some live rocks from someone, should i do anything with them before putting them into my 2 day old tank. I also found some snails on the rocks, should I remove them? I already have some live rocks and live sand in the tank.

As always, thanks for all your advise.

Is the rock cured? If its not cured then you need to cure them first...rock thats not cured will set back your cycle.THE SNAILS MIGHT NOT LIVE.THE TANK MIGHT NOT BE ESTABLISHED ENOUGH FOR THEM...BIO LOAD MIGHT BE TO GREAT FOR 2 DAY OLD TANK...AND IF THEY DO DIE...THEIR DEAD BODIES WILL SPIKE YOUR AMMONIA!!

The rocks are good to go then...your snails might not make it...:/.your 2 day old tank still might not have enough good bacteria to support them...inverts are very sensitive and the slightest change in water will put them in shock....sorry...if you want to be on the safe side keep them in the water that you got the rocks in just for now...and slowly acclimate them...into the new tank..that's their best chance of making it into a new tank from a mature tank...i.m.o

if you have just one piece of rock that is not cured, I would assumed that everything on it is dead already from the sun and rain...just rinse out all the crap and put it back into the tank....
