SKimmer help! Broken pump

I was just cleaning my skimmer pump and put everything back together when I noticed that from the front of the pump to the rear this piece snapped off.

It is a Hurricone Cat-2 Internal skimmer... what purpose does that piece serve??

I could try epoxying it back in place, but want to get opinions first..

if that is the second volute that is on the pump i dont think it will be any problem, it can be used to inject ozone through , pic of the whole pump ?

It is towards teh rear casing according to coralvue it is used to cool that section of the pump, but is mainly on the external ones.

It connects from the front of the pump to the rear. I will snap a pic in a second

looks like a regular fitting you can get from home depot and yes you can glue it back on

I glued it in place and put it back online, everything seems to be okay.
