Consider it my personal battle against frag whores who sell readily available zoas as one polyp LE frags. Look at this picture and tell me what do you see:

DSC_0055.jpg

This is not a designer coral guys, it's a common zoanthid called fire&ice or something, but I've seen it sold as ultimate alien whatsoever damn signature frag too many times:tired::sigh:. Excuse me, I Think I Got a Little Carried Away. Anyway, it's included in the frag pack as a 15+ polyps piece of rock.

Here's what I can provide:

- a frag of finger leather coral Sinularia spp that I got once from James and now it grew to a 10 fingers monster
-that 15+ polyps zoanthid on a rock
- a piece of pink monti cap
-a rock full of xenia (in the sump now, but it should open right away when you put it under lights )

There are rules:

-you have to be a beginner reefer looking for his/her first frags of easy to care for corals
-I CANNOT deliver it to you, it's a RAOK, common...
-please don't ask me if I can frag this and this and that and that you are willing to pay for that and that- it doesn't work like that
- if you EVER try to sell any of the corals from this pack I will NOT be happy
-one more thing I know from experience -don't estimate that you are the first and only to get this RAOK when you reply "PM sent"

Sorry for all the rules, but I want to make things clear before someone shows up. We can have a drink of scotch and chat (21+, ID checked:)) too:)

I will be available monday-wednesday this week between 5ish and 8.30. I'm in Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn.

Marcin.. for someone so concerned about people selling his frags perhaps you should be more concerned about you offering alcohol to minors..it's 21+ in NY buddy LOL

Oh sh%%#(, that's a bummer, thanks for clearing it. OK, so if you 21+ you can bring me  and we'll trade for one in my fridge (so tghis thing stays as RAOK:)) and if you 18+ you caan have a smoke outside my buliding:) I don't care as I don't smoke. I am away right now but I'll try to answer all the PM's later today or tomorrow morning. Have a nice evening everyone!

And I don't mind people selling frags at all, hell, I traded money for frags too, I just hate when people try to sell the common stuff like it was something super-cool. There's a little hypocrisy in this as I know how to use a macro lens and showed some of my photos here, which probably triggered some sales (the infamous pink&gold photo), but still, making easy money on newbies is not cool.

Hey man I totally agree. There is a few vendors..not mentioning any names but their prices are just flat out OUTRAGEOUS! When coral costs more than gold there is a problem. 1" of anything should not be $100+ I don't care what it is or $1,000 for 1 eye of a super limited edition Tyree diarrhea chalice or whatever the name is for the day. I'm all for people selling frags to share corals and get some money back to put into the tank but it's getting to a point where it's out of control.

RAOK- Random act of kindness- I get this term from the planted tanks forum, we use it when we're giving away plants:).
Haha Janine, scotch only is an option, but shhh cause I will have more people for the booze than for corals:)

and lol diarrhea chalice- that would be a great name:)

LOL yea people always want something free! My woman has people like that she works with, these mofos come over and go "what are we drinkin". It's my own fault I guess..I keep my liquor cabinet STOCKED! Well..that would be an understatement LOL No one gets the 74 scotch though, I start slappin hands away. :wink1:

Oh crap now they are going to want to come to my house haha. I am naming the Diarrhea chalice and a few others they will be limited editions. $1,000,000 per eye for the chalice and the menstrual blood zoas are $175,000 per polyp. People can say that the names are disgusting but so is the pricing so it might as well match!
:irked:

Realistically we are all beginners. There is always new stuff to learn they are discovering new species of creatures every day. The ocean is crazy. I know a good amount of stuff and have had fish tanks but I don't consider myself an expert by any means.

I bought my first tank about 11 years ago at World of Pets (smoq you might remember when they had that huge salt water tank in the middle of the store). At the time I worked part time at burger king and I was fascinated with salt water, so I went to World of Pets and spent a LOT OF money based on their recommendation.(again i worked at burer king, didn't pay well at all) . Long story short, got frustrated and gave up on the hobby for being too expensive and not at all enjoyable. Fast forward 11 years I am giving the hobby another try. Am I a beginner maybe. I am just inexperienced, but because of people like you guys, which are helping me for free, I am finding the hobby, still expensive but a lot more fun. What Smoq did, I think is great because, like he said, he was beginner/inexperienced 2 years ago, and without the help, he probably would have given up and not give corals for free to beginners. To that I salute you my friend. Cheers to all the people in this forum that are willing to help inexperienced people like me.

Holy true.

Thanks for the kind words. And no, I couldn't remember that, what I remember from 11 years ago is smuggling cheap beer on my bicycle from across the border in Czech Republic not thinking of going overseas::D I think
