Is your chiller plumbed into your tank 365 days a year or it's only plumbed into your tank during the hot season? Would it be bad to plumb it to your system 365 days a year, any negatives?

Before I set up my 180, I ran my chiller 24/7/365 - it didn't turn on all the time, but that's what I did.

I also ran it off-line from a 10g tank with boiling vinegar for 1/2 a day. I did that every 6 months.

What is the purpose of running it off-line from a 10g tank with boiling vinegar for 1/2 a day? Cleaning???

Yeah cleaning - it was plumbed into my sump, so it got nasty carbonate build up.
