Why dont you call Marine Depot and ask when the new Remora Nano skimmer will be available. It is supposed to be for tanks from 5g-25g. It runs on a Maxijet 900 which are as quiet a pump/powerhead your going to get. It would be fun to put a Maxijet 1200 on it and see what happens. Hmmmmm....

If it is like the other Remoras, then it will be as silent as you can get and skim great for your size tank. Remember that Remoras are injection skimmers so there is going to be some sound coming from it. This looks like a great option for no noise and less clutter (mods) for a small tank.

It should be only $90 -$125 bucks max

Told ya it was pretty loud....;)
Yes, the remora is definitely more quiet.
I didn't know about the smaller Remora being made, stated by Kasei......but it sounds like a better option due to your tank size.

I just contacted Marine Depot and they said that they will not be available until after January. I just sent off an email to AquaC in order to find out additional info so we will know exactly what to expect from this skimmer. I will update as I get the info from them.

Maybe I can get a preview version of it so we can test it out.

the venturi and needle wheel type skimmers are going to create a bit of noise from the air injector. You might want to look into an air stone type skimmer. Then the only thing making noise is the air pump and they're pretty quiet now.

all these skimmers you're looking at are venturi so there is going to be a sucking sound from the venturi air intake. They do have silencers but honestly it still makes noise try looking into air driven skimmers. MTC makes good ones.
