Why wouldn't this be possible? A lot of people have to move very fast and need to get rid of tanks or furniture at the last moment. The person could have been trying to sell it for a while and is now at a point where they have to just get rid of it.

Yeah they're a lot of people out there looking to jump people and set them up using a free 250gal tank

Well.....if i were the person and try to jump any guys trying to get free tank, i would post a free 50 gallon tank or maybe a 20 gallon tank so there would only be one or two people coming over to pick up the tank....much easier to jump rather than 4-5 people that'll be there to move a 250 gallon tank.
