You don't want to care for that one! Looks like you've got aiptasia. It's considered a pest but usually if you find one you've probably got more. They reproduce quickly and can sting corals.
Why would you want more sand? IMO it's fine as it is - maybe just need to move it around so it's more evenly distributed. In my experience the deeper the sandbed the harder it is to keep it clean.
