Hair algae means you have some phosphates in the tank. Also the reason why your fuge algae is growing like crazy. You have room for more fish, and yes scale back on the non-basic stuff and I think you'll be good.

Check out the loews videos on how to use the kreg pocket hole jig. You get a lot of tips and tricks from that guy. He seems very enthusiastic about wood working.

Debating on whether to but this kit and put it together or just buy 2 of the AI EXT adjustable rail kits. I want to mount my AIs on the back of my stand and hang the light over the tank horizontally versus vertically vs. hanging them from the side; call me a sucker for aesthetics.

A 7200 RPM hard drive or a Solid State to act your boot drive and the other to act as storage. But then that's getting into a different price range realm. But for what you're using it for it's perfect, just don't expect it to be overly speedy when launching things.
