Alk is one drawback definatly. I am currently having problems with keeping it stable. Right now it is through the roof yet my effluent is only at 7.2PH. I tuned the reactor back even more so we'll see what happens in a couple days.

Alright, A small problem happened last night. The Mag pump I am using on my reactor, decided it would start to leak. So after soaking up a gallon or so of water, I'm off to get a new pump.(under waranty of course) I got the glass cleaned. So here is some Up to date pics taken tonight.

Here is a couple of pics of my DIY Reactor. One pic shows it below and the other shows it beside the tank. I currently have the efluent dripping into the intake of the Skimmer.

I agree that the remora is a better skimmer but the Mag pump on it is so ugly inside of a tank.

Are any of you, using a reactor on your 20g nano? I have recently built a couple and am looking for some feedback from those whom have them on there's. Pros and Cons? Thanks Rob

Help!!.. My 7g Nano is being taken over by some strange algae or weed that I cant control. It's the purpleish stuff. This is a old pic but my tank is slowly being overrun with the stuff. any advise on how to rid my tank of this stuff?. thanks rob

right now I'm just relying on a weekly water change but do plan on having a doseing routine.

7.8PH is a little low. My tank is currently running at 8.3 - 8.4 each day. Might have something to do with it. Try to buff it up. Rob

Just set up my new 7g Nano on my desk at work. Its been up and running for about 2 months now. Still need a black backing. As far as lighting goes I'm using a coralife PC 65w X 2. I really took a gamble trying a clam with PC's, but so far so good. It seems to be doing great with tons of new growth.
