PAR METER range for SPS ???? my result showed low PAR

AI SOL BLUE 12" -14" above from waterline.

Set W 40- BL 45 45 RY

PAR meter reading:

i was surprised that Par meter showed way LOW!

I used a Apogee 1644

AI SOL BLUE 12" is 14" above from water line ( Biocube 29)

Set W 40 - BL 45 - RY 45

Par reading:

Waterline 190

Middle height 94

ground 61

corner middle height 66, 61, 73, 58

no wonder ZOA stalks are screaming for more light LOL!.

So i increased to 50w-60ry-55ry

waterline - 420

middle - 103

corner middle height range 80-94

Most SPS are in the middle height and on side (rack)

Should i increase little more or ??

advice or suggest will be great!!

14" sounds very high above water line to me. Mine are 8" or 6" above water line. I have mostly lps and zoas, but my montis and 1 acro are doing great.

Leds are very hard to get perfect but I see sps liking 200-350 range
your better to stay low and bring up slow so you dont melt or burn anything. I learned the hard way with my AI fixtures. I also would go like Rookie07 says 6-8''

Dame my leds are 20 inch above my tank and my par reading was way better then that i had 1100 2inch in water and 500 middle of tank side of tank in middle were 250 and bottom of tank was 280 and 90 on sides , this was at 100% and my tank is 24 high and power heads on.

Using a T5 with 2, 10k and 2, 6.5k, how high would you say it needs to be above a 10G? I'm just starting my tank but will be getting a light sooner than later and would like to set it up. The legs for the light will only have it 2.5in above the brim of the tank. But I do have the option of hanging it. Thanks for the info guys, Joe
