So I got my first frags of sps yesterday and put them in my tank. I was a little worried at first because after mounting them and putting them in my tank they started to slime up but this morning when I looked in the tank I'm already seeing some decent polyp extension. I'm assuming this is a good sign rite ???

Yeah that is good and the slime is what happens when you move them or they get stressed out but your fine just keep an eye on all your levels they will let you know when your tank is not right  BTW what part of the bronx are you from im seeing more and more of us BX'rs up here lately :biggrin:

What sps did you get? Most sps colonies release a slime as a sign of defense. An example is the Bali Green Slimer, hence the name. The slime is harmless to surrounding corals, and imo, this is a good sign of healthy sps. Also, The most polyp extension occurs during the night, so don't worry if the coral does not extend polyps during daytime hours. SPS corals can take as much as 4 weeks to adjust to a tank before they even start to grow. Just watch for discoloration, or any signs of stress. May I ask what lighting you have on the tank?
