how much more maintaining is it than regular lps coral?
how often do you do your water changes on a sps tank?

these are my levels

alk - 9.8 dkh (try to keep it between 9 -11dkh)
cal - 425 (try to keep it between 400 - 450)
mag - 1400 ( try to keep it between 1400 - 1480) <- allows for more calcium absorption into the water column
salinity - 1.026 ( i always and will always keep it at this)

as stated low nutrients to a point but remember corals need some of those nutrients and color up with them with deeper color (very low nutrient tanks have pastel colors). there is a fine line you have to figure out with nutrient levels. phosphates should be below .05 and nitrates below 10 at most...

50 % water changes seems alot but if it works for you keep doing it. i have a 80 gallon display and a 20 gallon sump so prob. all in all 80 gallons of water and i started doing 10 gallons a week. i kicked it up this week so far i did 20 gallons and tom. i will be doing another 10 gallons. i had gotten cyano algae from i think aquavitro fuel. :arg:

def water changes for sps no matter how good skimmer you have you will see that every time you do a water change you sps benefit from it ! parameter should stable never try t copy some else tank let the tank take its course also sps get stress out very quickly if handle them a lot so when you get a piece make sure to acclimate it to your lighting for a week then put it where you want him with opoxy and leave him alone !!

where can i get some of the opoxy to make him stay to the rock. thats great for other corals if your rock doesnt have holes and stuff for torches, hammers, etc
