I plan to frag one of my red milli sps colonies. But i affraid i may kill it. what is the best way to frag it with out killing anything. I get rid of all my big coral(hammer, prog, bubbles, brains, colts.) all i want in my tank is leather toadstool, xenia and frag of sps and lps.

By the way, i have one huge colt coral. It is about 24 inches height, i want to take it out of my tank but this thing mounted into a huge rock. What can i do? just chopped it from the bottom?

Well, I usually just grab sps and break off a piece, but more carefull people than me will use a dedicated pair of snips or wire cutters and cut it.

As for the colt, yes, you can just chop it off, but it will regrow where the leftover base is. Some soft corals you can actually peel off the rock, if you can get one side started (it does require strength and finesse). I don't know how well that works with colts though, but I have ripped many a sinularia from a rock.
