I do not see these to much, are they not collected(illegal), well liked, or hard to take care of? Just curious I have seen a few in pics and think the ones I saw were nice looking, especially the one with reddish/brown polyps on a light tan or white backround. Plus I like that they have extra long polyps.

It might have mostly to do with collecting locations. They used to appear very often. Nowadays, we see mostly S.elegans.

I see these available on sites offering aquacultured corals such as www.coralreefecosystems.com, and they pop up in our local stores here in the SF bay area.

It is a beautiful coral. Just not the "in thing" these days. I think I have 5 or six of these in my tanks and I love 'em.

Not sure of the ehrenbergi species, but I did see a couple of the LE Sarcophyton at a recent swap. Very nice neon green.

I love sarcophytons. I had one that had a very small capitulum and polyps about 5 inches long under florescents (less under halides) that was radical. It grew too big (stalk was 3 wide and about 10 inches tall) and I lopped it off and gave it to a local reefer. Never heard how it went.

I still have some wee bits of it coming of the rock where I cut it.

Also have the nicer variety of green sarcs (not ORAs) and a regular fiji yellow.

If you mean me, here's a couple of my green ones. I'll have to look for a pic of the other
