Who's got some for me? In about two months I'll be starting my tank restocking procedure. I only want the best stuff in this tank...it's primarily low-light LPS, but there are some higher points. Dual 150W DE 20k halides and dual 39w T5 actinics.

Well, based on how slowly I have been taking pictures lately, you can expect to see that pic in about 2 months.

I'm not overly thrilled with the color of my melon so far. The part that is supposed to be pink is more purple. The green part looks fine. At first I thought it's colors might be dulled a bit due to shipping stress, but it still looks the same today as the day I got it.


Maybe it'll color up. Who knows.

That's primarily what I'm looking for. Superman, rainbow, sunrise montiporas and then maybe a couple other SPS. Nothing too ridiculous because my lighting won't support it, but maybe a Leng Sy cap frag or somesuch.

What lighting do you have the superman monti under, Karl? How far away? What kind of growth do you get with it?

This frag here is about 9" from a 250W Phoenix 14K:

I'll likely hold onto this one, since my small colony will likely bit the dust. I chipped off two pieces from that colony earlier today. I'll let you know how they do within the next week or so.

Both my rainbow and sunset monti frags got knocked over and went bye-bye, too

Has your piece always maintained that blue base color? Also, was it from a wild colony or did it come from a known source like where the original Superman came from? The reason I asked is that I have a small wild colony that has lost much of the blue but the polyps are still pretty bright orange/red, altho the blue is coming back a little on the edges. I also have it under a 250W Phoenix about 5" below the water surface. The ROIII pendant is about 8" above the tank. I wonder if it's getting too much light.

If my Superman regains it's color and if you are interested, I wouldn't mind fragging it. I also have another encrusting monti that is very much like the rainbow except it doesn't have the orange/red polyps along the leading edge. It's a solid purple/blue base with all bright green polyps.
