I guess not. Personally, I try to stick to bulbs that Sanjay Joshi has run spectral analysis on. That way, I can get the maximum PAR value and best color for the type of fixture I have. If you haven't read his articles, you can view them all here:

AquaConnect 14K's are the best bulbs I ever used. Pleasing to the eye, great coral coloration and growth. What more do you want?

But, they are double the cost of most other bulbs. ($139 each for 400W's)

Doesn't help me with 175 watters.

He did write an article on the spectral analysis of 175w bulbs. Evidently, it never got added to that page. Here it is: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/12/review

Basically, to sum it up, the Iwasaki Aqua2 175w bulb blows every other 175w bulb on the market away. It's Par is the greatest and the color spectrum peaks in the more desirable blue-white spectrum. I think I got mine from www.coralreefecosystems.com I use these on my frag tank and they rock. You'd almost swear it was a 250w bulb.
