EQUIPEMENT/SETUP: a 75 gal tank (startup3/1/06) with: 100 lbs rock, Odyssea lights:(2) 150W 10K HQ,(2)96W actinic,2 power heads, a Seio 820,and a Fluval 4 filter. The main tank drains to a 15 gal mud refugium on a reverse cycle,96W VHO and filled with Cheato algae. This tank overflows through filter fiber and into a 15 gal sump with an ASM (rated 200gal ) protein skimmer, and a Mag Drive 9.5 (800gph at 6ft) main pump which returns to the main tank through a 1/4 hp Pacific Coast chiller.
OPERATION: Actinics: 12 hrs. HQ 10 hrs. Dosing 1/2 gal Kalkwasser per day and 1 gal fresh RO per 3 days. Feed fish 1/16 teas pellets and 1/2 block of mysid shrimp per day; Zoo and Phyto plankton 1/ week. 20% water change 1/month.
WATER PARAMETERS:Temp 78 deg, pH 8-8.1, Calcium 410 ppm, Total alkalinity 2.7 meq/L, Magnesium 11-1200 mg/L, Nitrate 10-20 ppm, Phos (PO4) .1ppm, Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0.
ANIMALS:3 Damsels, 1 Blenny,6 Blue/Grn Chromis, 1 Yellow Gobie. Two cleaner shrimp and one peppermit. Hermits: 2 Electric Blue, 1 Zebra, 2 Scarlet, 2 unknown, the rest blue legs. 6 astreas, some stomatella, 2 nassarius. SPS:Seriatopora; Porites (bright green/yellow encrusting), Montipora Capricornis (orange and green plate), Montipora Digitata (brown branch), Millipora, Hydnophora Rigida (bright green), Pavona Maldiveousa (Bright green encrusting), Stylophora (pink club finger), Acropora Youngei (yellow/grn), various other acropora. LPS:Torch coral, Blastomussa Wellsi, Candy Cane/Trumpet, Heliofungia (pink plate). Soft corals: Xenia (Pulse corals), Glove Polyp, Green Star Briarium. Sponges: blue, brown, yellow ball, and white. Featherdusters. Orange Ball Anemone. macro algae.
