This may be my fault, but when I left for work this morning everything was hunky-dory. When I got home however, my bubble-tip anenome was half of its size and it's spewing out white and brown gunk. I tried to touch it to see if it would react and it cowered down and I could not budge it. Is it dying?

Yep, totally normal.

When an anemone is fully expanded, it is about 80% water. What an anemone does is 'suck' in water to increase its surface area and thereby increase the amount of light that it can absorb (or, rather, its zooanthellae).

When an anemone contracts, it is releasing a good majority of the water that's in it as well as any waste that it needs to get rid of.

My bubble tip will contract to about 1/4 its normal size when performing this and my maroon clown doesn't like it one bit!

Mine has done this before - I think it might just be pooping.

Good luck
