what happens when a fish disappears and you presume that it's dead and you don't take it out of the tank. does that take a major affect on your water parameters?

Sammy, the dead fish is long gone!;) Your CUC and or other fish took care of it before you even knew he/she was gone. By the way, it may still be alife somewhere, just hiding out. That happens to.;)

When snails die it's worse when you can't find them . Observe your animals for stress and try to have some emergency water at hand just in case. Size matters.
