For $4.00 more you can get this model from Buckeye Field Supply, one of our vendors. Notice how the DI Canister is properly orientated vertically instead of horizontally.

I have no more problems ever since I got rid of the self piercing valve, and hooked it up directly inline with the incoming water supply line to my sink. And it came with the TDS meter. I would recommend it, KathyC also has the same one.

I’m really glad I found this thread – I may be getting one of these units in the neat future; my B-day is coming up and I think it’ll make a great gift!

Anyway, my question is, can such a unit be connected to a sink faucet and run efficiently or will I need to purchase some sort of power pump in addition?

connecting it to a faucet will be fine....but it will work way better with a pump.....im planning on getting a pump with the r/o kit also.......its suppose to decrease your waste water and make more pure water by 80%...that means lower water bill....and happy early b-day

lol...thanks for the reply and the early b-day wish.

What types of pumps are available? So far, with the research I've seen, it seems as though they are pricy. Dr F.&S.com has them starting at $200!

Do you know of any cheaper models? Additionally, can they be connected to a faucet or are they designed for inline plumbing?

Thanks again.

I searched ebay and was able to find a pump for around $80 although, it didn't specify if it's required to be installed directly into the plumbing or if it can be connected directly to a faucet. Generally speaking, does anyone know how they?re installed?
