Hermit and Snail

Hi everyone, any help identifying the below critters would be greatly appreciated

I never quite figured out what kind of hermit I have (trying to determine how big/fast he will grow). I also suspect that he might have eaten a few legs off of my new Emerald crab overnight :


I also just got some rocks that seem to have come with one grownup and one babe snail (so far...) Are they safe? Here is the grownup:

they are both safe.. the snail is a nassarious snail... the hermit crab... name doesnt matter but it wont grow any bigger than that

Thanks for the info, Ryan. The hermit apparently decided to prove you wrong though; he moved into a huge shell (2x or 3x the size of his old one) last week, and today I came home to find him molted and, seemingly, larger (we'll pretend that I didn't come home, see a fleshy mass of hermit legs amongst the rocks and assume that he'd somehow been eaten...)

Anyone know what kind of hermit he is? I can't seem to find the info online...
