I have had this plate coral for 2 months and it?s been doing well.
Yesterday my clam died and I can?t figure out why.
My tank
30g
8.3 pH
9 Alk
Phosphates less then .25
Nitrates 5
440 Calcium
Temp 75f
Salinity 1.025

The parameters have been stable for a solid 60 days. I check every 3 days.

The plates tenticles have retracted and I picked it up and noticed that the bottom has a small white patch.

What type of clam was it ?
In my experience plates do fine or finer sand, if left alone the tissue can continue to recede, I would recommend dipping it and placing it on some type of shelf/ flat rock til it heals, on a side note beware of bristle worms and clams sometimes they bother then to the point of death
