Set Up Date : May '01. Many inhabitants moved from a 70 gallon tank. Some of the specimens, LR and sand is up to 5 years old.

Tank Size (LxHxW | Volume): 72"x24"x30" 225 gallon acrylic

Sump Size (LxHxW | Volume): 48"x15"x13", 50 gallon glass tank partioned into three sections.

Live Rock (Mass): Approximately 350lbs of Fiji. 200lbs are new, the rest was transfered from another tank.

Live Sand (Mass): Approximately 3" deep sand bed of fine to medium aragonite. Some of this came from existing tanks. No live sand was added per se.

Lighting (Type | Wattage | Photoperiod): 4-400W 10K MH bulbs and 440W VHO actinic fluorescent lamps. Total of 2040W.
Photoperiod:
Actinics come on at 9AM
2 MH come on at 10AM
2 more MH come on at 12PM.
First 2 MH go off at about 8PM
Other 2 MH go off at 10PM
Actinics go off at 11:00PM.

Protein Skimmer (Brand | Model): Precision Marine Bullet2 Beckett style skimmer. Powered by Mag18 1800GPH submersible pump.

Biological Filtration (Type): None other than LR and sand bed.

Chemical Filtration (Type): GAC 24/7.

Circulation (Rate | Brand | Model): 2 3/4" Sea-Swirl oscillating returns each putting out approximately 750GPH. 4 Maxijet 1200 powerheads, each putting out about 300GPH on a wave maker run from about 7AM to about 1AM. They turn off for a period at night to simulate a slack tide condition. Total turn-over in the tank is about 10 turns/hour

Return Pump (Rate | Brand | Model): Two MAG 9.5 submersible pumps. Each returning through a 3/4" Sea-Swirl. Rated at 950GPH each, 750GPH at the 5' head they are pumping against.

pH (Morning | Evening): 8.1 Morning. 8.3 Evening. Monitored with Pinpoint pH meter.

Temperature (Range | oC | oF): 78.5F to 81.5F

Specific Gravity / Salintity (g/g | ppt): Salinity maintained at 1.024-1.025

Alkalinity (meq/l | dKH): 4.0meq/l nominal. Has ranged from 3.5 to 4.5 while tank was being dialed in.

Calcium (ppm): 500ppm. Maintained by Precision Marine CR622 Calcium Reactor.

Ammonia (ppm): 0

Nitrite (ppm): 0

Nitrate (ppm): 0

Phosphate (ppm): 0

Fish :
1 Hippo Tang
1 Yellow Tang
1 Kole Tang
2 Neon Gobies
3 Green Chromis
1 Scissortail Goby
1 Decorator Goby
1 Blue-Spotted Watchman Goby
1 6-line Wrasse
3 Ocellaris clown - including breeding pair.

Corals :
Soft: Sarcophyton and Sinularia as well as Ricordia, star polyps, various mushrooms and button polyps.
LPS: Bubble coral, Purple Goniopora, alveopora, large hammer, elegance coral, several brain corals, fungia coral.
SPS: Many, including millipora, monitopora and acroporas. About 25 varieties.

Invertebrates :
2 8" Derasa clams
2 4" Maxima clams
1 4" Squamosa clam
1 Banded Coral shrimp
3 Peppermint shrimp
3 Sally Lightfoot crabs
1 emerald crab
1 gray brittlestar
1 Small red anemone
Misc blue-legged and mexican hermits (approx 20)
Astrea and cerith snails (approx 30)

Maintenance Program :
Change 10 gallons of water each week.
Only supplementation is via calcium reactor.
Requires approximately 3 gallons of makeup water each day.
