t5 bulb questions

Did not know where else to post this question but... time for me to replace my first set of t5 bulbs. I have a 250 hiq also that has 4 24" t5 bulbs.

What is a decent make of t5 bulb to replace with? I do like the blue hue but does it have any negative affect on coral growth?

blue bulbs (actinics) do not put out as much PAR as white bulbs but the 250w HIQ will put out enough for your corals. Go with ATI bulbs. Blue + bulbs are nice and blue and also put out great PAR.

No, there is no negative affect on the corals from the actinic bulbs. The type of fixture you have is designed so that those T5 bulbs in there are supposed to be actinics

Brand wise, I like Giesmann bulbs but most 'name brand' actinics are fine. ATI and UVL are popular choices around here too.
