Tail Fin Deterioration on Kole Tang

Our healthy cole tang's tail fin is deteriorating. still eating well and acting the same, but clear signs of deterioration on his fins. all other fish are ok. the back of the pectoral fins are also starting to look bad. i tried taking pictures but the batteries ran out. if you need pics, i'll try agin, but he's fast. thanks in advance.

does it look like nipped fins or that its just losing it >?

My algae blenny had pretty serious fin rot. He was also not eating and was pacing so I am not sure if it was the same problem as you are having, but I used both melafix and pimafix. I dosed the tank for 1 week, did massive water changes and then dosed again for one more week. You cannot run your skimmer while you do this, so a quarantine tank would work best. He was my only fish at the time so I just dosed the entire tank.
