The most bizarre shark you've ever seen

Cyclop Shark?!

According to Pisces Sportfishing blog, this specimen was removed from an adult Bull Shark.  The fisherman believes it is a shark fetus (Bull Sharks are one of several live-birth shark species).  The fisherman is unwilling to donate the specimen to science.  However, he has agreed to allow scientists to study the shark.  The first and most obvious question scientists want answered is whether the oversized “cyclop” eye is an eye at all or possibly a fused nasal cavity.

While there are naturally doubts about the authenticity of these photographs, we are told shark expert Felipe Galvan has validated the specimen in person, and a scientific paper is currently under review for publication.

Is this an elaborate hoax or a real freak of nature?
