Indonesian Jaw Breaker are the best !

Move over, Jawbreaker Mushrooms… out of the way Bounce Mushrooms… there’s a new corallimorph king in town. Meet the Permafrost Mushroom, a sexy new strain of Discosoma that was recently shared by the coral connoisseurs over at Bali Aquarium. Credit to clownfish guru Matt Pedersen for coming up with the catchy name, which references the nearly perfect resemblance this polyp has to a lichen-strewn subarctic landscape. If you squint your eyes just right, you can almost see the herds of caribou off in the distance, traversing a barren expanse across this polyp’s orange and green oral disk. Let’s hope this gorgeous mushroom makes it into propagation, because there’s going to be a lot of aquarists wanting a frag.
