Check out this short film by George Mavrakis, owner and founder of CoralFish12g, a YouTube channel dedicated to creative, educational, and fun reef aquarium videos. The film, titled “50 Fish Stores in 5 days”, follows the adventure of three men crammed into one truck as they visit 50 fish stores through 10 states over the course of (you guessed it) five days.

With the goal of supporting and promoting Local Fish Shops, as well as educating the general public about the aquarium hobby, the team traveled to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Texas. According to George, “If we missed any of our locations by even 1 hour we wouldn’t complete 50 fish stores in 5 days.” – sounds both exciting and a little intense! The truck was filled with products and equipment from companies such as Fritz Aquatics, Planet Aquariums, and Current USA, which the men gave away throughout their epic trip.
The film has garnered over 22,000 views in the six weeks since it was first posted, and it’s a great insight into the diversity of, passion needed for, and hard work crucial to the success of these small, independent shops.
