Sunlight Aqua is the exclusive distributor of Thrive Aquatics

Simplified analytics is gaining traction in our hobby.  Companies like seneye and now Thrive Aquatics are out to change the way aquarists monitor and analyze their aquarium parameters.  Historically, hobbyists relied on themselves for testing and analysis of the results.  Testing is routine for experienced aquarists.  However, for new aquarists, test kits may prove daunting, and understanding the test results even more so.

Enter companies like Thrive Aquatics and their Thrive Analytics service.  How does it work?  Aquarists collect samples of their aquarium water (in a ‘Thrive water analysis bottle’) and bring it to a authorized brick-and-mortar store where a technician tests and enters the results into ThriveAquatics.com.  This information is logged and analyzed in the Thrive Analytics database, and the store receives a ‘Thrive Prescription’ for their customer, instructing the customer how to fix any problems the analysis reveals.

Thrive Aquatics has chosen Sunlight Aqua (FKA Sunlight Supply) as their exclusive distributor.  What this means is that Thrive’s service will soon be available at any Sunlight Aqua local retailer across the United States.  Both Thrive Aquatics and Sunlight Aqua (an Advanced Aquarist sponsor) will be in attendance at this weekend’s MACNA where they will announce their business arrangement as well as showcase their line of products.

Thrive Aquatics will distribute a line of ‘core’ reefkeeping additives/supplements and water treatment solutions that is designed to fix problems revealed by their Analytics service.  The nine products at this time are:

  1. Alkalinity
  2. Calcium
  3. Magnesium
  4. Iodide
  5. Strontium
  6. Potassium
  7. Phosphate Remover (liquid solution)
  8. Liquid “Bio-Stimulant” probiotic carbon source
  9. Crushed (dry) “Bio-Stimulant” probiotic media made of carbon polymers and ground Aragonite.

These products will be sold in eco-friendly packaging; Customers can purchase recyclable aluminum billet bottle and refill their bottles with liquid pouches (which Thrive states use 85% less plastic then conventional plastic bottles)thriveProp.jpg

Thrive is also marketing a line of reef gardening propagation supplies:

  2. Coral Thread (thread soaked in amino acids and vitamin C powder to aid in the recovery of threaded soft coral)
  3. Clam Kit (ceramic base designed to nestle clams)
  4. Frag Tree (a vertical, space-saving rack to hold coral plugs)
